Pandemic Preparedness in Rural India
The covid-19 spread has shifted and expanded globally. Almost every household, community, organization, sector and nation is reeling from its impacts on health, the economy and the society. These are tough times. Even more tough for those who live with limited means. The COVID-19 pandemic and accompanying lockdowns have crippled societies around the world, hitting those at the bottom of the pyramid the hardest. In rural India daily wage earners, unorganized workers, slum dwellers, rag pickers, drivers & pavement dwellers are all out of work and struggling with hunger everyday. We, GeBBSFoundation are helping people in Aurangabad and Jalna cope through the COVID19 crisis by providing food and commodities for their daily use. Our volunteers have reached areas of severe need and distributed commodities to families. Till date our volunteers have supplied 1 month food relief kits to 250 families ( 100 in Jalna and 150 in Aurangabad ) and the distribution is still on. T
