Detect and Protect women in the rural areas of Aurangabad from Cervical Cancer

Our success stories bring hope and encouragement to women who have been affected by Cervical and Breast cancer in Aurangabad. One such success story is Gayabai’s path to recovery. Below is her success story in her own words:
“I, Gayabai was suffering from abdominal pain which was growing day by day, and then there was a complete necessity to visit the local clinic. The doctor at the clinic suggested to get a treatment done from a hospital in the city. Due to my financial status, I was unable to proceed with the treatment. It was then through ASHA workers that I came to know about GeBBS Foundation and got an opportunity to visit their free check-up camp conducted at Borgao in Aurangabad.
The doctors who inspected me suggested to visit the MGM hospital at Aurangabad. At MGM hospital, the doctors checked and immediately admitted me. I had to go through an Abdominal Hysterectomy process on 25th of May 2018. The entire surgical procedure was done free of cost. I am extremely fortunate to get treated and am immensely thankful to GeBBS Foundation. I hope that all women like me get an opportunity to go to such camps, seek early diagnosis, get tested, start treatment and take endless support which is provided by GeBBS Foundation and MGM hospital.”
Through Gayabai’s success story we notice that women healthcare in the rural areas are often ignored and disregarded. There is a tremendous need to bring not only awareness but also encourage early detection and advocacy and actual funding for Cervical and Breast cancer.
