Our Volunteer’s Life Changing Experience

“Doing nothing for others is the undoing of ourselves” – Horace Mann

In this environment of pandemic when all of us are looking out to be safe, our volunteers have come together in the most extraordinary ways to go the extra mile and lend a hand. Hear our volunteer speak about his experience with GeBBS Foundation.

Pandurang Bajirao Nakhate - Volunteer of GeBBS Foundation

"My journey with GeBBS Foundation is a memorable one. I feel we are much more than just volunteers; we are one big family looking out for each other to support the society. So, it is my duty to be with them during this pandemic period when they need us the most. After volunteering for healthcare camps especially cervical and breast cancer camps I have realized the privilege of being born into a financially stable family that can afford both education and medical expenses. Most of the people in the rural areas are unable to fight cervical and breast cancer or any other disease as they are unable to bear the medical expenses. For days and months women suffer until their condition becomes uncontrollable and at times they finally die without any medical support. I am proud to be a part of GeBBS Foundation who consistently works towards breaking the vicious cycle of poverty, illiteracy, health and social constraints for a better world. The coordination and promptness with their supporting partners is incredible. The well-equipped mobile van that runs in the villages to do a quick PAP testing for women who are suspected patients is working 24x7. Women detected with the disease are immediately prescribed to MGM Hospital where they are treated free of cost. This is the eradication process that GeBBS Foundation follows. Now people are no longer unaware of Cervical & Breast Cancer in Aurangabad and Jalna. I am sure with this continued process we will succeed in decreasing this disease from rural India.”

To continue with the process of reducing cervical and breast cancer in the rural areas especially in Aurangabad and Jalna we conducted our recent camps in Anjandoh and Nandeda village. Our MGM doctors, nurses conducted the screening process in our well-equipped mobile van. Post detection, the patient is advised to visit the MGM hospital in Aurangabad for further tests and surgery if required.

In this way we will continue to be there for our people in the rural areas and ‘Be the change we want to see’.
