The nation hits a pause, but not our healthcare camps

The national lockdown has severely affected the lives and livelihoods of the people in rural India. Agriculture, fishing, harvesting - everything is at a standstill. This results to isolation, income insecurity & lack of proper healthcare.

During these uncertain times, we are working together to make a difference in the lives of the people in the rural areas specially Aurangabad and Jalna. Our corporate partners and volunteers are working tirelessly to provide food and healthcare support. Our volunteers are continuously distributing food relief kits to the families in Aurangabad and Jalna. Currently, along with these activities, we have also initiated the ‘Safety First’ project with the Aurangabad Municipality Corporation where we have distributed triple layer masks to all our workers and volunteers. Last week we have distributed 3000 triple layer surgical masks to the Aurangabad City Police, 1000 masks to the Aurangabad sanitation workers & 800 masks to the Zillah Parishad ASHA workers. Our aim is to maintain the well-being of our volunteers and workers first, while taking care of others.

Adding to this pandemic support we are also conducting our regular cervical & breast cancer check-up camps in different villages along with our volunteers, MGM doctors and nurses in our well-equipped mobile van.The initial testing and screening processes are done in the mobile van by the MGMdoctors and nurses.  Post the screening, if the patients are detected with Cervical Cancer symptoms, they are recommended to visit the MGM hospital at Aurangabad for a further check-up and free surgery.

Our recent camps were organized in Anjandoh, Khamkheda&Lingdari village where we screened close to 60 women. We will continue to work together and do everything within our power to uplift our society.
