Our Volunteer’s Touching Lives During Covid Crisis

The pandemic has left the deprived communities in acute distress. People in the rural areas are pushed deeper into poverty. Hygiene and medication is beyond imagination, even one meal is a struggle for most. To tackle this challenge our volunteers have come together to support the people in the rural areas (mainly Aurangabad) with the basic necessities. From distributing hygiene kits to food kits – our volunteers are doing everything to keep the people in the rural areas safe and secure. Hear our volunteer speak, about his experience with GeBBS Foundation.

Pawan Madanrao Popalghat - Volunteer, GeBBS Foundation Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad.

“I always wanted to do something that adds value to the society. Helping people and giving a smile is something that makes me happy. I am grateful to GeBBS Foundation for giving me this opportunity to live my passion. I am very fortunate to be associated with GeBBS Foundation and render my service to the people in the rural areas at this time of need. While attending few of the health check-up camps in the GeBBS Foundation mobile van I have realized that people in the rural areas are real warriors who are always battling against all odds – be it Cervical Cancer or Covid-19. In spite of the financial crunch, lack of hygiene and education, people in the rural areas continue to fight for survival. To help them fight this covid crisis, GeBBS Foundation provided them with medical support by organizing healthcare camps in their mobile van by the Hedgewar hospital doctors. Other than these Covid check up camps, GeBBS Foundation also organizes Covid awareness camps to enlighten and educate the people in the rural areas. I am thankful to GeBBS Foundation for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the survival journey of the people in rural areas. For me the whole experience of being a volunteer, is a life changing episode.

In this way we will continue to be there for our people in the rural areas and ‘Be the change we want to see’
