Connect to Combat the Infection

India is now among the top 10 nations that have been worst hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. The disease is now spreading in the rural areas. Currently, this virus does not have symptoms; it can only be detected if tested. Hence the situation is all the more worst especially in the rural areas since they do not have proper healthcare facilities. The population out there completely relies on people’s power and healthcare workers who are continuously providing healthcare support.

We at GeBBS Foundation know that testing is an essential part of India’s COVID-19 control strategy otherwise spread of the infection will be missed. Hence to trace and quarantine contact our volunteers and ASHA workers visit different villages to spread awareness about the COVID-19 virus. They visit door to door to find people with suspected infections. If a person has symptoms, he/she is tested for the virus along with the family members. If tested positive, they are taken to isolation units or hospitals.

All these screening processes and awareness camps are conducted in association with Savitribai Phule Mahila Ekatm Samaj Mandal and the Hedgewar Hospital. Everyday our mobile van visits different villages with our Hedgewar doctors and nurses to conduct these camps. Recent camps that were conducted in the last couple of weeks were are Ambegaon, Nandeda village, Waghola and Lohagadnandra village, Lingdari and Anjandoh village.

We at GeBBS Foundation continue to expand the pool of our trained doctors and ASHA workers accessible to its majority rural population of Aurangabad and Jalna and fight the virus.
